THE QUESTION
People do not operate in isolation.
Learning, behaviour and participation take place within environments, relationships, processes, technologies and institutions.
Determine Education explores what becomes visible when human capability is considered alongside the systems through which that capability must be expressed.
Sometimes the most useful question is not simply whether a person can do something, but what happens when that capability meets information, expectations, resources, relationships, timing, authority and environment.
The problem can look different when the terrain comes into view.

A recurring interest is what becomes visible when difficulty is examined relationally rather than automatically located entirely within the person or entirely within the system.
WHEN HUMAN-CENTRED IDEALS MEET OPERATIONAL REALITY
Ideas such as inclusion, accessibility, participation, flexibility and wellbeing can be compelling at the level of principle.
Their lived effect depends on what happens as those ideals move through policies, processes, information demands, technologies, resources and everyday environments.
Determine Education is particularly interested in that translation:
What happens between a good intention and the experience it eventually creates?
The answer may sit not in a single person, policy or process, but in the interaction between them.
NEURODIVERSITY AS A LENS
Neurodiversity can make these interactions especially visible.
Differences in attention, information processing, sensory experience, communication, executive demands and patterns of participation can expose features of an environment that might otherwise remain unnoticed.
The interest here is not in treating difference as failure.
It is in asking what becomes apparent when human variation meets systems built around particular assumptions about how people will understand, organise, communicate and act.
IDEAL → SYSTEM → ENVIRONMENT → EXPERIENCE
Human-centred ideas do not move directly from intention to experience.
They pass through operational layers.
An ideal is interpreted.
A policy gives it form.
A process asks people to enact it.
An environment shapes what is possible.
A person experiences the result.
